The reality is we need to exercise our brains! A Fit Mind is not only academic learning but it also includes exercising our minds creatively and seeking knowledge to help us grow. There have been many generations of leaders preceding us who put a stop to complacency in their life and stretched their mindset to grow! They made a choice and pursued their dreams, goals and aspirations. Some of these people failed miserably and gave up…some failed miserably over and over again and didn’t give up until they succeeded. Proverbs 23:7 (AMP) says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Our thoughts play an important role in who we are at a core. Our decisions sprout from these thoughts so without taking the time to challenge our mindset we will have a tendency to atrophy the “thinking muscle”!

I challenge you with 5 quick action steps to start shifting your mindset immediately:

  1. Stop doubting yourself and believe that you can do what you set your mind on
  2. Stop abusing yourself with negative self-talk and start claiming your gifts
  3. Stop judging and criticizing others and point out the positives you see in them
  4. Cut out the negative, glass half-empty, thinking and replace it with the glass half-full
  5. Stop feeding the FEARS! (False Evidence Appearing Real)

As with all other areas of our health, a Fit Mind requires a balance with the Fit Body and the Fit Spirit. Proper nutrition and exercise are important for clarity of mind and being a healthy individual. Expanding our mind and challenging what we believe about the world around us can be helpful in us achieving the life that we want. Connecting all of these things spiritually is of utmost importance if we are going to fully succeed at growing a Fit Life!
