Are You Ready to Make Different Choices?
As a child, you probably remember your parents telling you that you have choices to make. Little did you know how your choices would be so profound as you grew up! Each one of us has made a series of excellent choices and we have also made a series of choices that we would change if we had the opportunity. No matter what choices you have made up to the time of reading this post, today can be the day that you start making different choices that move you forward to a better place in your life.
I would have to say the time span of my college years where the years where most of my “not so healthy choices” played out. The people that I surrounded myself with along with the mindset that I had going into my college years made for some choices to be made that we’re less than desirable. There were many consequences that I suffered from these choices, and some of them still impact me today as I share my story. The cool thing is, today these choices become a motivator instead of a barrier. Your’s can too! Just because choices were made that were damaging to self and others, doesn’t mean we have to stay stuck in them forever.
It is important that you take a look at the decisions that you have made up to this point in your life and ask yourselves, “how are these choices impacting me today?”
Are they motivating me toward a greater calling or are they setting me back in defeat and regrets. Just because you have made a series of choices that are less than desirable doesn’t mean you have to stay stuck in them. Take a few minutes to examine some of those choices that you wish you wouldn’t have made. How would you life be different today? By making a different choice in an area of your life today, you will change some of your future situations.
So take a stand today and make a different choice. It’s time to clean out the closet regrets and standup to the person that God created you to be. Make some choices that come from a place of integrity. Embrace your character strengths that motivate you and stand in truth. When you make the decision at a heart level to change, nothing will stand in the way of your creating awesome. Do not buy in to what the culture says is the best for you, spend some quality time with the God that created you and step in to the greatness He created you for life!
Keep this scripture in mind as you look back on the choices you would like to change; “And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” Romans 8:27-29 https://www.bible.com/bible/116/ROM.8.27-29
This is a truth that you get to stand firm in. I am living proof that some of the crazy choices that I made in my life have been transformed into areas of my life that God uses to point people in His direction. The mere fact that I’m writing this blog post is evidence that He is in the transformation business. So make a new choice today and create some awesome in your life!
